Helo redres, welcome textilesgreen today i m going to explain about different types of textile printing. and i m writing all information in this article with my personal view. so, read complete article.

Best types of textile printing

In textile printing industry, printing is done on the basis of 3 most important techniques. and some important dyes also be used for printing such as disperse dye. disperse dye also be used for printing in textile printing industry. here i am going to explain about some important techniques such as,

1. direct printing – printing directly on to the surface of the fabric with
the help of dyes/pigment. this is simple methods for textile printing.
2. discharge printing – this is a special methods for removing colors from
specific areas from dyed fabric with the help of chemicals.
3. Resist printing –  in case of resist printing,  you can choose cotton fabric for
resist printing. and avoid fabric such as wool, silk.
first off all resist past are applied on the fabric in design or
patterns then dyeing the fabric so that past will be easily resist.
tie and dye or batik are also printed with same methods. this
is best example of this types of printing.
this is very simple methods for printing, you can print easily
at home. now a days yarn dyeing shirts and printed shirts or t-shirt are more popular. Mostly people want to wear printed shirts and t-shirt.
Here, i m going to explain  about 8 best types of textile printing

types of textile printing

1. Screen printing

https://textilesgreen.blogspot.com/2019/08/types-of-textile-printing.html
Screen printing is most commonly used in textile printing
industry. in case of screen printing, print directly on to the
fabric with the help of some important instruments such as
screen/mesh/films. if you print the fabric with the help of
screen. it is easy to transfer of your design or pattern on to
the fabric. it is very easy method for print the fabric. you
can print the fabric at home also.
in case of screen printing, all types of pattern/design is made
out of nylon fabric. the area which does not have prints are
covered and then you can easily placed screen on to the fabric.
in case of screen printing, squeegee is main important
instrument of textile printing industry. because without
squeegee you can not print the fabric. so, squeegee is
required for screen printing.
the main role of squeegee is color through the screen
on to the fabric.
there are two types of screen printing.
(a). flat bed screen printing
(b). rotary screen printing
 flat bed screen printing
flat bed screen printing is very expensive compare with
rotary screen printing.
in case of flat bed screen printing, printing paste are transfer
to the fabric through design screen.
flat bed screen printing are mainly used in print lot of fabric
in printing industry.
in case of flat bed screen printing, only one color can be print
by each screen.

advantage

(a) easy to handle

(b) no screen is required

(c) less waste

(d) multiple colors is used

rotary screen printing
you can print on light color as well as dark color with the
same intensity. in both cases. flat bed screen printing or
rotary screen printing machine are similar. because in both
cases required some equipment such as in-feed device,
glue through, rotating blanket, dryer, fixation equipment
and more.

advantage

(a) labor intensity is low

(b) it is easy to load or unload the rotary
screen
(c) process is done without no tension

2. Block printing

https://textilesgreen.blogspot.com/2019/08/types-of-textile-printing.html
in case of block printing, it is easy to prints directly on to
the fabric with the help of carved piece of wood or other
types of wooden blocks. it is easy to print any types of
design on to the fabric. first dye is used on the carved design,
and then applied on the face of the fabric with some pressure.
then all design will open on the surface of fabric.
now a days this block printing is more popular in hole world.
and mostly people refers of this types of block printing because
it is very easy to print at home.
advantage
1. easy to handle
2. low cost
3. it has simplicity
4. its gives more sharpness and accuracy.
5. you can print cotton fabric, silk or more.

3. Heat transfer printing

https://textilesgreen.blogspot.com/2019/08/types-of-textile-printing.html

in this heat transfer printing methods, first off all you create a design
on paper. and then design on the paper is transfer directly on to the
fabric surface with the help of heat press machine.
it easy to transfer directly a design with the help of  hot roller or heat
press machine.
heat transfer printing are most commonly used in textile printing
industry. now a days heat transfer printing is also more popular on
fabric as well as new gifted material also.
advantage

(a) photo print is easily transfer on textile materials.

(b) you can uses variety of color

(c) graphic design is possible on textile materials

4. inkjet printing

inkjet printing is done with the help of inkjet technology.
the main function of inkjet printing is, firs off all you
spray the ink directed by magnetic plates on to the paper.
which is fed through the printer.
now a days inkjet printing is more popular and more
affordable.
it is easy to handle and you can print inkjet printing easily
at home.
inkjet printing is most commonly used in textile priniting
industry.
advantage

(a) low cost/

(b) easy to uses.

(c) it gives better printing picture.

(d) vivid color is also print.

(e) reasonable fast.

5. sublimation printing

in this case, dye are transfer on to the fabric with the help of
heat. or in other word in case of sublimation printing uses heat
to transfer dye onto materials such as fabric, paper and other.
sublimation printing is more popular methods for print high
quality image. and they are print all types of design or high
quality image and it gives accurate results.
advantage

(a) easy to produced.

(b) reduces risk and damage.

(c) print more items without any damage.

(d) print full colored image onto hard surface.

6. spray printing

In case of spray printing, color is easily transfer on
to the fabric through screen with the help of spray gun.
In other word, first off all store the dye or color in
the spray gun and then apply for printing. this method
is very easy or useful. You can print easily with the help
of spray gun at home. This method is use in textile industry.
now a days this method is most commonly used in printing
Industry.
Advantage

(a) high transfer activity.

(b) gives fast service and more work is finish.
in less time.

(c) less time is taken for print.

(d) its gives better spray finish.

7. roller printing (engraved roller printing)

It is totally continuous printing methods. in this method, copper
cylinder is used for printing. this copper cylinder is easily engraved
with the any type of design whatever required for printing.
Because this copper cylinder is very soft then it is easy to engraved
with design. and this cylinder is electroplated with chrome.
This method is fully continuous techniques.
In this methods, you can add design with 10- 12 color easily.
it is easily print whatever you required.
This is very simple method for print of textile materials.
This technique gives good results without any problems.

Advantage

(a) print large batch.

(b) speed is high

(c) gives very fine print.

(d) gives good results.

8. DTG (direct to garment printing)

In case of direct to garment printing, it is based on inkjet
technology. In this method, DTG printers is required for
printing of textile substrate or materials. DTG printers have
a platen designed. In this case, first of all fix the garments
on platen designed then inkjet are easily sprayed on to the
textile garments with the help of print head.

Now a days, This methods is very popular and this method
is most commonly used in textile printing industry.
Because it is very easy to handle and print anyone.
This printers is not taken more space.
production speed is also good and it gives good accuracy.
You can start business with the help of this DTG printing
machine at home also. And you can grow easily with less time.

Advantage

(a) running multiple printers from one computer.

(b) it gives good accuracy and high quality results.

(c) easy to use.

(d) low labour is required

(e) quick setup and print.
